You may not be loosing weight when you are fasting.

We are talking about fasting for a longer for period of time, not intermittent fasting. If you’re doing intermittent fasting and keto and you are not losing weight usually it is because you are eating too many carbs.
Sometimes you have to lower your carbs down to 10 grams per day or less.
Or it could be that you’re just not fasting long enough. Your metabolism is slow. If you are fasting 16 hours or 18 hours you may need to do longer.
Or you are consuming too much fat. Your body is turning dietary fat into keto and not turning your own fat into ketones.
What if you are fasting two days or three days and you are not loosing weight. Why? Some individuals fast for quite a bit of time with hardly any weight loss. Those people usually have an extremely slow metabolism.
Very Slow Metabolism. Some were overweight at birth. Some kids had an infection and they are giving steroids, medication or antibiotics that mess up their metabolism early on. And then their parents may put them on diet after diet that slows down the metabolism, that could be one reason.
Constipation. If you are constipated, you could be walking around with 5 to 7 extra pounds of waste in your body, and that could act as a barrier for you to lose weight.
Stress. Stress activates the hormone cortisol. Cortisol breaks down your own muscle protein, it turns it into sugar and that sugar will raise insulin and that will keep you from losing weight.
This also includes having an infection. If you are fasting and you have this severe infection, you may not lose weight. Why, because of the high levels of cortisol. If you have infection and fasting will help your immune system.
Not sleeping. Not sleeping will increase cortisol and add more stress and it will mess up your blood sugars. It will definitely keep you from losing weight.
Water retention. Water retention for various reasons could be another reason why you’re not loosing weight.

Dr. Berg recommends taking nutrients – electrolytes, B vitamins, trace minerals, vitamin D. Why, you need to improve insulin resistance to speed up the slow metabolism.
Example: A lady did fasting for almost 3 days and barely lost anything. She had constipation. What was happening was the liver was jammed up and things were not flowing that well. When you take purified bile salts on an empty stomach, three times day, it tends to open up the bile ducks, pancreatic ducks, the ducks to the liver that allows drainage. Not to mention bile it self helps burn fat. That is what Dr. Berg recommend it to this person, they were relieved of their constipation and finally they started losing weight.
Do things the increase your sleep. Decrease stress. If you’re stressed out, not sleeping it’s going to severely affect your ability to lose weight while you’re fasting.

Lastly, give it more time especially if you have a slow metabolism.
