IMPORTANT: It is not “lose weight to get healthy,” it is “get healthy to lose weight.”

Exercise will not help you lose weight in any significant way. There are a lot of great benefits of exercise: you will be more fit, you will have stress, you will sleep better, you will have more oxygen, you will lower your risk having all sorts of health problems. You need to do it, but weight loss is not one of the benefits.
Three different studies demonstrate heavy people who exercise end up having a slower resting metabolism by 5-15% then when they started. As a result they burn 500 calories less per day.
In the best case scenario, exercise only gives you 15% of your results of weight loss and diet gives you 85% of your weight loss results.
If you are overweight and you are exercising, you are slowing down your metabolism by 5-15%. As a result, exercise becomes pretty insignificant.
Many people have a pre or post-workout drink or snack containing some sort of protein, BCAA, or collagen. They tend to think this will help repair the muscles better or build more muscle mass. But, all this will do is stop their ability to lose weight. The protein increases insulin, and the insulin stops fat-burning. The result is any weight loss from the exercise is gone because of the drink of that pre or post-workout drink or snack.
People who try to exercise without being fat-adapted are typically really hungry, and their appetite increases when they work out. This causes them to eat more food, especially more carbs. Some will try fat-burner or energy drinks. The only way to burn fat is to get into ketosis and allow your body’s natural fat-burning ability to help you loose weight.
If a person combines a low-calorie diet with exercise, they will destroy their metabolism over time.
It is important to remember that it’s not “lose weight to get healthy,” it is “get healthy to lose weight.”
You have to create a healthy metabolism, hormones, and body. Diet and exercise are tools to get there. But, in the absence of health, you will not lose weight. Without health you are cycling in and out of temporary weight loss. That is torture.
You need a diet that will help you lower your insulin levels, lower your insulin resistance, and help make your insulin more sensitive. This is where the Healthy Keto diet comes in.
